We all talk of getting into the “Christmas Spirit” and anguish about why we can’t. Well, let us put aside the commercial side of the Christmas season and all the planning and buying of gifts. Let us talk of the “spirit” of Christmas through the eyes of human endeavour. There are big undertakings and time spent in preparation for a Christmas celebration that you never think about. Some dedicated souls spend a good deal of their free time practicing, assembling and putting together a “Christmas” for others to enjoy.
There are many crafts or vocations that people volunteer toward, a few are choiring, gift wrapping, decorating, cooking for groups and driving; but those are just a few. The volunteers only have the reward of having served humanity in a kind and unthinking manner. It is blessed twofold: it blesses he who gives and he who receives. Is there a better way to celebrate Christmas?
